Extreme heat forces rescheduling with Stawell meeting moved

RACING Victoria has rescheduled Friday’s Stawell meeting because of predicted extreme heat. The meeting will now be held next Monday after the Bureau of Meteorology forecast an expected maximum temperature at Stawell of 43C.
  • “RV, in consultation with the Stawell Racing Club, the Australian Trainers Association and the Victorian Jockey Association, has decided to transfer the race meeting to Monday to ensure the safety of horses and participants,” RV said in a statement.
  • “Acceptances for the meeting have been extended to 8.30am this Friday, 4 January 2019.
  • “Race times have been amended with Race 1 scheduled to be held at 12.40pm and Race 8 at 5pm.
  • “All revised meeting dates and race times have been implemented in accordance with RV’s Procedure for Racing in Hot Weather Policy, which is designed to ensure the health and wellbeing of horses and participants is paramount.”
