POSTED ON  |  04-01-2019

Racing Victoria stewards are continuing an investigation into Swan Hill trainer Austy Coffey after one of his gallopers, Our Mallee Hoff, returned a positive swab to a prohibited substance. Stewards received a report from Racing Analytical Services Limited (RASL) confirming that Triamcinolone Acetonide (a corticosteroid) had been detected in a blood sample collected from the six-year-old. The Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory also reported that it had detected Triamcinolone Acetonide within the reserve portion of the blood sample.

The report relates to a pre-race blood sample taken from Our Mallee Hoff prior to the gelding finishing last in the Bet365 0-78 Handicap (1100m) at the Bendigo Racecourse on 31 October 2018.
