Thoroughbred Racing Injuries Workshop
The Retired Racehorse Project’s 2018 Thoroughbred Makeover  started Thursday, October 4, at the Kentucky Horse Park, in Lexington. Attendees had the opportunity to attend educational seminars and panel discussions about the care, training, and marketing of off-track Thoroughbreds.

Stephanie L. Church, editor-in-chief of The Horse, moderated the panel discussion about Thoroughbred racing injuries and outcomes. The panel of industry professionals included Dr. Larkspur Carroll of Core Therapies, a veterinary chiropractic and acupuncture clinic in Versailles, Kentucky; racing trainer Vicki Oliver; Dr. Laura Werner of Hagyard Equine Medical Institute, in Lexington; and Danielle Montgomery of Turning For Home, a Thoroughbred after-care program based in Bensalem, Pennsylvania. The Horse News Editor Erica Larson attended the discussion and tweeted key points and messages from the session.
