Applying Science to the Care of the Thoroughbred Horse

Applying Science to the Care of the Thoroughbred Horse

About the Conference

The meeting will focus on the role of science in finding solutions for issues that threaten the safety and welfare of the Thoroughbred racehorse. It will create a unique opportunity for important stakeholders in racing to learn about the latest research findings, understand the challenges faced by researchers, and help shape a research agenda that is pertinent to the sport. Researchers will have a chance to develop contacts at the leading edge of racing and to meet colleagues with similar interests from around the world.

Call for Abstract

Researchers working in fields that impact the health or welfare of the Thoroughbred racehorse are invited to submit abstracts of work to be considered for podium or poster presentations. Abstracts must indicate how the work may lead to practical improvements in the care and safety of the racehorse.

Accepted abstracts will be published in the programme book.

The announcement of abstracts selected for presentation at the Conference will be made in September 2025. All applicants will be informed of the results by email. More can be read here.
