The British Horseracing Authority is the single governing and regulatory body for British Horseracing which ensures the continuing integrity and successful development of the sport. It is the BHA’s role to act for and on behalf of the whole sport, ensuring the highest standards for the sport and participants, on and away from the racecourse. The successful candidate will be an experienced equine veterinary surgeon with excellent communication and decision-making skills and the ability to both work within and lead a team. The ideal person will be collaborative, inspirational and empathetic and approach regulatory challenges with a balanced and fair approach.

Working within the Department of Equine Regulation, Safety and Welfare and reporting to the Senior Veterinary Officer (West), you will be involved in raceday and non-raceday regulatory duties, including pre-race examinations and suitability to race assessments, anti-doping testing and welfare assessments in racehorses.
